Aaron John Allen, of Jefferson City, was born on April 12, 1985, in Jefferson City, a son of John and Cathy (Kleffner) Allen, and departed this life on Friday, February 24, 2017, in Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility, Jefferson City. Aaron had been in poor health for the past 2 ½ years, and had attained the age of 31 years, 10 months, and 12 days.
In his grade school years, Aaron was a 3 time State Champion Wrestler with Tri-Cap Wrestling Club in Wardsville, Missouri. Aaron was also an avid baseball and football player while growing up. He attended Jefferson City High School and Helias High School in Jefferson City. Aaron later attended Columbia College in Jefferson City. He was most recently employed at Black Gold Pet Foods in Vienna, and later at Fechtel Beverage, Jefferson City, until his illness.
In his early years, Aaron enjoyed taking trips with his dad to many areas of the country to show dogs. He loved to deer hunt, barbecue and hang out with family and friends. After his injury, Aaron enjoyed video games, watching pro football, and especially enjoyed socializing with his many close friends. Wherever Aaron went, he made friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Aaron is survived by his mother, Cathy Allen, of Jefferson City; his father and step-mother, John and Sheila Allen of Vienna; one brother, Albert Allen of Yorktown, Virginia; two step-brothers, Corey Martin (Emily Steinman) of Jefferson City; and Dustin Martin of Castaic, California; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Aaron was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Earl and Lillian Allen of Vienna; maternal grandparents, Lawrence and Elizabeth Kleffner of Brinktown; and four uncles, Dwayne Robertson, James Allen, Ray Winkleman, and James Kleffner.
Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 28, 2017, in the Houser-Millard Funeral Home in Jefferson City. Friends will also be received from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 1, 2017, in the Visitation Catholic Church in Vienna.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 1, 2017, in the Visitation Catholic Church, with the Rev. Matthew Flatley officiating. Interment will follow in the Vienna Public Cemetery under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home in Vienna.
