Ada Pearl Hoy, age 99, of Freeburg, was born February 21, 1924, at Sturgeon, Missouri, a daughter of James and Flore (Robinson) Welch, and passed from this life, Wednesday, July 5, 2023, in Capitol Region Medical Center, Jefferson City.

She was united in marriage on September 14, 1957, at Richmond, Indiana, to John J. Hoy, who preceded her in death on December 29, 1990.

Pearl accepted Jesus Christ as her Personal Savior and followed her Lord in baptism early in life. During her working years, she was employed with Quaker Windows, Freeburg, until she retired at the age of 62.

She loved spending time with her family whether it be at family dinners, family reunions, or traveling, especially to Las Vegas. Pearl enjoyed playing Skip-Bo, gardening, and sewing. She had a kind and caring heart and donated monthly to Boys Town. Pearl was never without a smile or friend. She will always be remembered for being generous with her time and sharing her love of sewing by gifting her tea towels and quilts to many families and friends.

Those left to celebrate the life of Pearl include: her children, David Gibson and wife Jan, Vienna, Barbara Gibson Hladky, Freeburg, and Richard Hoy and girlfriend Carla Ortega, North Las Vegas, Nevada; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren with one on the way; seven great-great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, John, Pearl was preceded in death by one sister, Fay Brown; and two brothers, David Welch, and John Welch.

A private family gathering will be held at a later time and will be announced by Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna.

The inurnment for Mrs. Pearl Hoy will be in Holy Family Cemetery, next to her beloved husband, John.
