Agnes Barbara LaBruyere, of Brinktown, was born January 17, 1931, at Brinktown, a daughter of Herman Peter and Celestine Angela (Winkelmann) Bauer, and departed this life at 7:07 p.m., on Wednesday, January 28, 2015, in the University of Missouri Medical Center, Columbia, after suffering a stroke on January 14, 2015. She had attained the age of 84 years, and 11 days.
Mrs. LaBruyere was united in marriage on May 18, 1957, at St. Louis, to Norvel Daniel "Dan" LaBruyere, and to this union, four sons were born. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan, on January 16, 2015; one son, Roch LaBruyere; her father, Herman, on September 24, 1969; her mother, Celestine, on February 5, 2000; five brothers, Joseph S. Bauer, John C. Bauer, Norbert J. Bauer, Ralph Bauer, and Anthony Bauer; and one sister, Elizabeth Wester.
Mrs. LaBruyere was a member of the Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Brinktown; the Ladies Auxiliary of the Lischwe-Brandel American Legion Post No. 354, Brinktown; the Lady Lions Auxiliary, Florissant; and had served as a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts and the Weblos Troop No. 713 Great Northwestern Council, Florissant. During her working life, she had been employed in general office work for the Bee Mac Trucking Company and the Goode Trucking Company, both in St. Louis, and had worked as a child care provider as for many years as well. Mrs. LaBruyere was a devoted housewife, homemaker, and a person that enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, and according to her sons, "a really good cook". Following their retirement in 1990, Agnes and Dan moved from Florissant, where they had lived during their working life, back to her hometown of Brinktown for their retirement years.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. LaBruyere include: Three sons and one daughter-in-law, Alan LaBruyere, Marthasville, Darryl and Karen LaBruyere, Ironton, and Lee LaBruyere, Fort Walton Beach, Florida; one daughter, Donna Marie LaBruyere, Maplewood; one brother, Martin B. Bauer, Brinktown; four sisters, Theresa Koerber, state of Montana, Mary Gansmann, St.Louis, Odelia Kristof, Phoenix, Arizona, and Gertrude Mehlick, Ladue; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation for Mrs. LaBruyere will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, February 7, 2015, in the Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Brinktown.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Mrs. LaBruyere at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, February 7, 2015, in the Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Brinktown, with the Rev. Matthew Flatley as the celebrant. Interment will follow in the Guardian Angels Cemetery, Brinktown, under the direction of the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.
