Albert Henry Haller, of Freeburg, was born on January 6, 1930, at Freeburg, a son of Henry Frank and Cunigunda Marie (Holterman) Haller, and departed this life at 10:25 p.m., on Friday, May 8, 2020, in StoneBridge Care Center, Westphalia. He had attained the age of 90 years, 4 months, and 2 days.
Albert was united in marriage on February 18, 1950, at Jefferson City, to the former Miss Martha Louise Eggen, and to this union, three children were born.
He was a life-long member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, Freeburg, and had attended the Holy Family School for his education. Albert was a hard working man for all his life and had been a self-employed farmer, raising crops and livestock, until he could no longer do the work and had to retire.
Those left to mourn the passing of Albert include: His children, Robert Haller and wife, Judy, Nancy Nilges, and Randy Haller and wife, Rita, all of Freeburg; his grandchildren, Julie Wankum (Mark), Chris Nilges (Ginger) Jesse Haller (Lacey), Sara Luebbert (Travis), Kevin Bax (Jessica), Jennifer Kampeter (Rod), Jeffrey Bax (Katie), Katy Haller, Joseph Haller, and Jackie Haller; his great-grandchildren, Jake, Kaitlyn, Lexie, Cassie, Isaac, Addison, Carter, Charlie, Billie, Emma, and Felicity; and a host of other relatives and friends. Albert will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha, on February 28, 2009; one daughter-in-law, Debra Gail (Chaney) Haller on April 6, 2001; his son-in-law, William Lee Nilges on October 8, 2015; his father, Henry, on September 13, 1945; his mother, Cunigunda, on April 17, 1964; two brothers, infant Henry Frank Haller and Henry "Jim" Haller; and three sisters, Marie Elizabeth Boehmer, Martha Ann Mengwasser, and Irene Mary Hoffman-Laughlin.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and size of the church, a visitation for relatives and friends of Mr. Albert Henry Haller will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, May 13, 2020, and from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 14, 2020, in the Holy Family Catholic Church, 104 Oliver Street, Freeburg, Missouri 65035.
The Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Albert Henry Haller will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, May 14, 2020, in the Holy Family Catholic Church, 104 Oliver Street, Freeburg, Missouri 65035, with the Rev. William D. Debo as the Celebrant, by Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home in Vienna.
About 100 relatives and friends will be able to attend due to the size of the church and following social distancing guidelines in place at this time. We are asking attendees to stay six feet apart, avoid close contact, wear personal masks, or use other personal protective items if wanted.
Interment will be next to his beloved wife, Martha, in the Holy Family Cemetery, Freeburg, under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna. Pallbearers for Albert will be Chris Nilges, Jesse Haller, Joseph Haller, Travis Luebbert, Rod Kampeter, Kevin Bax, and Jeffrey Bax.
Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Albert Henry Haller are suggested by his family to the Holy Family School with envelopes available at the Holy Family Church or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 250, Vienna, Missouri 65582.
