Obituary

Allen Lloyd Honse, age 83, of Vienna, was born December 20, 1940, at Vienna, a son of Clyde Avery and Mabel (Frey) Honse, and passed from this life Sunday, February 11, 2024, in Stonebridge, Owensville.

Mr. Honse was married June 11, 1966, in First Baptist Church, Vienna, to the former Miss Barbara Sue Breeding.

He had accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior early in life and followed Him in baptism.  Allen was a member of First Baptist Church, Vienna, and had attended Little Flock Baptist Church, near Vienna, as long as his health permitted.  During his working life, he was employed with the Missouri Department of Transportation as a traffic inspector for 43 years, retiring in 2002, as well as working on the Vienna Ambulance.  He enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting, his bowling league, muzzle loader competitions, old westerns, trapping with his grandkids, sharpening knives, Honse Implement and the Saturday morning gossip sessions along with their Monday night fish fries, but most of all his family, friends, and Barb's cooking.

Those left to celebrate the life of Mr. Honse include: his children, Mark Honse, Scott (Dawn) Breeding, and Tina (Scott) Dake, all of Vienna; five grandchildren, Madyson Honse, Ethan Honse, Aidyn Honse, Paige Breeding, and Dalton Breeding; great-grandson, Vance Kirchner; sister, Joyce (Gabe) Ramsey, Marshall; sisters-in-law, Jean Honse, Custer City, Oklahoma; Joyce Honse, Elizabeth Honse Rowden (Ron), May Honse, and Vivian Honse, all of Vienna; nephews; nieces with great and great-greats as well; and other relatives, and many friends.

Allen was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara on September 10, 2021; his father, Clyde on December 1, 1991; his mother, Mabel on January 26, 2005; and seven brothers, Pete, Edwin, Robert (Joan), Charles, Forrest, Harold (Marie), and Donald (Mildred) Honse.

Visitation for Mr. Allen Honse will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 15, 2024, and from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 16, 2024, in First Baptist Church, 1004 US Highway 63 South, Vienna, MO 65582 with his funeral service following at 11:00 a.m. in the church with Rev. Chris Slocum officiating under the direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna.

Interment will be in the Vienna Public Cemetery, Highway 42 West, Vienna, MO 65582.  Pallbearers for Mr. Honse will be Eddie Honse, Paul Honse, Ethan Honse, Fred Ragan, Todd Schoene, Gary Clinkenbeard, Kody Hertzing, and Marvin Zimmer, and his honorary pallbearers will be Madyson Honse, Paige Breeding, Dalton Breeding, Aidyn Honse, Kobe Roettgen, Tom Honse, and Ron Breeding.

Immediately following the cemetery interment ceremony, the Honse family extends an invitation to all in attendance to share a meal with them in the Baptist Hall located on the lower level of First Baptist Church, 1004 US Highway 63 South, Vienna, MO 65582.

Memorials in memory of  Mr. Allen Honse are suggested to the Vienna Public Cemetery and  the Breeding Cemetery perpetual care funds or per the wishes of the family with envelopes available at Vienna First Baptist Church or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 250, Vienna, MO 65582.
