Ann Catherine Brunnert, of Argyle, was born on April 8, 1932, at Argyle, a daughter of Henry and Catherine Anna (Stuckenschnieder) Verhoff, and departed this life at 5:06 p.m., on Saturday, September 8, 2018, in the Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City. Mrs. Brunnert had attained the age of 86 years and 5 months.
Mrs. Brunnert was united in marriage on June 20, 1959, at Argyle, to Urban Joseph Brunnert, and to this union, five children were born.
She was a member of the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Argyle, the Ladies Sodality of the Church, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8045 Auxiliary, Argyle. Activities she especially enjoyed included flower and vegetable gardening, baking, canning, traveling, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. After her family was raised, she became a floral designer and provided flowers for many local weddings and she worked at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home and Rainey House, Vienna, for twenty years.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Brunnert include: Three sons, Jim Brunnert and wife, Joyce, Argyle; Daniel Brunnert and wife, Debbie, Loose Creek; and Ronnie Brunnert, Argyle; two daughters, Karen Buschmann and husband, Brad, Westphalia; and Janice Loeffelman and husband, Scott, St. Louis; one sister, Olga Juergensmeyer, St. Louis; twelve grandchildren, Abby, Kary, Jenny, Christine, Timothy, Lydia, Jamie, Amanda, Tanner, Andrew, Anna, and Kaitlyn; seven great-grandchildren, Cooper, Lincoln, Lucas, Avery, Cora, Henry, and Kate; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Urban Brunnert, on January 8, 1985; one grandson, Anthony James, on July 27, 2003; her father, Henry Verhoff; her mother, Catherine Verhoff; six brothers, Zeno Verhoff; Cornelius Verhoff; Herbert Verhoff; Edwin Verhoff; Clarence Verhoff; and Harold Verhoff; and one sister, Marcella Schwartze.
Visitation for Mrs. Brunnert will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening, September 12, 2018, and from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Thursday morning, September 13, 2018, in the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, 406 South Main Street, Vienna, Missouri 65582.
The Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Brunnert will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday morning, September 13, 2018, in the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 1 Church Lane, Argyle, Missouri 65001, with the Rev. Gregory C. Meystrik as the Celebrant.
Interment will be in the St. Aloysius Cemetery, Argyle, under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna. Pallbearers will be Tanner Buschmann, Timothy Brunnert, Andrew Loeffelman, Paul Verhoff, Mike Juergensmeyer, John Verhoff, Richard Verhoff and Francis Verhoff.
Expressions of sympathy may be made for Masses in memory of Ann or to Saint Aloysius Church.
