Arlie Lee Carter, age 91, of Dixon, was born April 9, 1931, at Hooker, in Pulaski County, a son of Pete Noah and Dora May (Grisham) Carter, and passed from this life peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at his residence near Dixon.
He was united in marriage on June 13, 1950, at Dixon, to the former Miss Helen Ruth Nelson, and to this union, three daughters were born.
Arlie was baptized in 1950 at the Dixon United Methodist Church and at the time of his passing was attending Wheeler Church near Dixon. He was a member of Arlington Lodge No. 346 A.F. & A.M., and the Dixon High Twelve Club. During his working life, Arlie was a supply clerk with civil service at Fort Leonard Wood until his retirement as well as being well known for installing tile and hardwood throughout the area. He enjoyed hunting, farming, working in his yard, and his grand and great grandchildren.
Those left to mourn the passing of Arlie include: His devoted wife of seventy-two years, Helen, of their home; his daughters, Diane Lick, Washington, Sandy Lumpkin (Larry), and Trish McCray (Scott), all of Dixon; eight grandchildren, Brian Lick (Amy), Steve Lick (Debbie), Jeni Fagre (Scott), Kevin Lick (Liz), Nicole Alexander (Jason), Michael Lumpkin, Matthew McCray (Julie), and Laura Jacobs (Josh); sixteen great-grandchildren, Marisa, Alex, John, Jacob, Madison, Savannah, Addison, Aubrey, Adyen, Malachi, Mathias, Milli, Owen, Blake, Perry, and Hayes; and one great-great-grandchild anticipated in March of 2023; sister, Vivian Thompson (Yarol), Dixon; nephews, nieces, with great and great-grands, and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by son-in-law, John Lick; his father, Pete; his mother, Dora; siblings, Dorothy Carter at age three years, Erma Hance (Les), Mildred Felkerson (Wade), Norma Russell (Warden), and Robert Carter (Lorene).
Visitation for Mr. Arlie Lee Carter will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a Masonic Service at 7:00 p.m., Monday, December 5, 2022, and will continue from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 6, 2022, in Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, 105 East Third Street, Dixon, Mo 65459, with his funeral service following at 11:00 a.m., with Bro. Kevin Rowden, Wheeler Church, Dixon, officiating.
Interment for Mr. Carter will be in Kenner Cemetery near Dixon, under the direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Dixon. Pallbearers for Arlie will be Brian Lick, Steve Lick, Kevin Lick, Michael Lumpkin, Matthew McCray, Jason Alexander, and Josh Jacobs
Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Arlie Lee Carter are suggested by his family to the Kenner Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund with envelopes at the funeral home or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box EE, Dixon, Mo.
