Ashley Theodora Marler, of Rolla, formerly of Vienna, was born on August 17, 1987, at Columbia, the daughter of Robert Eugene and Cynthia Lynn (Peters) Marler, and departed this life on Saturday, September 26, 2020, at her residence. God sent Ashley to us on August 17, 1987, and on September 26, 2020, He took her home at the age of 33 years, 1 month, and 11 days.
At age thirteen, Ashley accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and followed her Lord in baptism while attending the Church of Christ in Rolla. While growing up and during the annual Phelps County Fair, she was crowned Little Miss Phelps County, Phelps County Fair Junior Princess, Phelps County Fair Princess, and Miss Rolla. Ashley was a 2005 graduate of the Rolla High School where she excelled in her studies with a qualifying ACT score for a scholarship to Harvard University, however following high school, Ashley elected to study at Missouri Valley College in Marshall.
She was a talented woodworker, turning a couple of pieces of broken down furniture into a thing of beauty, with many of her friends having pieces of her handiwork in their homes. Ashley was also quite the interior decorator making a couple of trips to the thrift shops then turning a new home or apartment into something spectacular taking on this task for several friends.
She was a friend to all animals, loved her horse, Jake, and the animal love of her life, was her new Yorkie puppy, "Baby Boss". Ashley especially loved hanging out at the river, fishing, and teaching children how to fish as well as cooking for other people and enjoying time with her family.
At the time of her passing, Ashley was employed by the Mortgage Store LLC in Rolla as the assistant to the owner Yvonne Silverberg.
Those left to mourn the passing of Ashley include: Her mother and step-father, Cyndi and Warren Olson; brothers, Lance Marler and Chase Marler; sons, Trace and Lyle; maternal grandparents, Larry and Jo Peters; longtime very best friend, Jack Duncan; and numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert, on January 30, 2011; and her paternal grandparents, Harold and Theodora Marler.
Ashley loved everybody and everything without prejudice and was the true embodiment of God's love. We lost a great young lady, but heaven gained a new saint. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, family and friends of Ashley Theodora Marler will gather at a later occasion to reflect her life at a celebration of life service to be announced by the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home in Vienna.
