Barbara Jane Warman, of Springfield, formerly of Dixon, was born on August 11, 1936, at Hancock, a daughter of James Clint and Opal Alice (Davis) Bays, and departed this life on Sunday morning, December 7, 2014, in the Wilson's Creek Nursing and Rehab, Springfield. Mrs. Warman had been in failing health for some time and had attained the age of 78 years, 3 months, and 27 days.
Mrs. Warman was united in marriage on December 5, 1953, at Dixon, to Wilbur Claud Warman, and to this union, four sons were born. She was preceded in death by her husband on October 1, 2009; two sons, Gregory P. Warman on August 31, 2002; and James "Jimmy" Warman on September 13, 2006; her father on October 12, 1980; her mother on May 15, 2002; and one brother-in-law, Russell Miller on March 28, 1998.
She was a member of the Dixon United Methodist Church, Dixon and had been a secretary for the Dixon R-1 Schools for twenty-seven years retiring in 1992. Barbara enjoyed reading, word search puzzles, watching the game show network, and crocheting.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Warman include: Two sons, Michael Warman (Anita), Springfield; and Randy Warman, Kansas City; one daughter-in-law, Gay Lynn Warman, Dixon; one sister, Yvonne Miller, Jefferson City; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren with one (Nathan James) anticipated in February of 2015; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were for Mrs. Warman at 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, December 11, 2014, in the Dixon United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Tony Townley, Shelbina United Methodist Church, Shelbina officiating.
Interment was in the Dixon Cemetery under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes. Active pallbearers were Will Warman, Nathan Warman, Clinton Warman, Adam Warman, Ron Plemmons, Layne Sullivan, and Matthew Lopez. Honorary pallbearers were Ryker Paule, Tanner Plemmons, and Travin Plemmons.
