Benjamin Lee Schultz, of Vienna, was born on August 12, 1949, at St. Louis, the son of Carl and Mary Ann (Koerber) Schultz, and departed this life at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at his residence, after suffering an apparent heart attack. Ben had attained the age of 67 years, 11 months, and 20 days.
He had attended high school in St. Louis prior to joining the United States Air Force on September 18, 1968, at St. Louis. Ben served his country until March 17, 1971, when he was honorably discharged at Nellis Air Force Base, Las Vegas, Nevada, at the rank of Sergeant. During his air force career, he was trained as an aircraft electrician, serving at numerous duty stations, and was awarded a number of decorations and commendations for his service. Ben's "Honorable Discharge" is a testimonial of honest and faithful service to our country. As a civilian, he had worked as an electrician as well as holding numerous other types of employment during his working life.
Ben is survived by his uncle, Sylvester Koerber, of Vienna; his cousins, Peter Valentine, Paul Cornelius Koerber, and Lawrence Koerber; and three aunts, Virginia McCormick, Theresa Valentine, and Viola Ryan.
