Mildred Berniece Copeland, of Dixon, was born April 22, 1940, near Dixon, a daughter of Adolph and Gertrude Isabel (Robertson) Overshon, and departed this life at 8:16 p.m., on Thursday evening, June 9, 2016, in the Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City. Bernice had attained the age of 76 years, 1 month, and 18 days.
Berniece was united in marriage in 1978, near Dixon in the Pisgah area, to Dale Copeland. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Lisa Ann Davis; her father Adolph; her mother, Gertie; one granddaughter, Cheyenne Copeland; one great- grandchild, Axton Lewis; and one son-in-law, Roland "Scott" Lewis.
She was a member of the Kenner Church of God, Dixon; The Stickney Friendship Club; and had been in Who's Who. Bernice had been a nurses aid for the Phelps County Regional Hospital, Rolla; worked with Planned Parenthood, Waynesville; was a secretary for Haven Concrete Company, St. Robert; and was a teacher's aide for special needs children in the Maries R-1 School System, Vienna. She enjoyed collecting antiques, loved gardening and flowers
and was a devoted housewife and homemaker, always diligent in providing for the needs of her family.
Those left to mourn the passing of Berniece include: Her husband, Dale Copeland, of the home near Dixon; three sons, Steve Davis and wife, Donna, Bolivar; Billy Davis, Dixon; Mike Davis and wife, Karen, Dixon; one daughter, Christy Lewis, Lebanon; one step-daughter, Shannon Copeland, Crocker; eighteen grandchildren, Justin Davis and wife, B.J., Jesse Davis and wife, Christa, Christina Nuttall and husband, Kyle; Russell Davis, Stephanie Davis, Stephen Davis, Jamie Adamson and husband, Travis, Lauri Faherty and husband, Derek, Kelly Hollis and friend, Ashley Jones, Sydney Davis, Rachel Peniston, Meghan Davis, Cassie Newell and husband, Mike, Brandon Lewis, Johnny Lewis and wife Britney, Chris Lewis, Isabel McCance, and Haile Copeland; nineteen great grandchildren, Cole, Olivia, McKenzie, Alexis, Makayla, Aiden, and Brock Davis, Jordan and Ella Nuttall, Haddie, Matty and Brice Adamson, Jessica and Grant Hollis, Hayden and Rylee Davis, Easton and Clayton Lewis, and Brandon Newell; two brothers, Roy Overshon and wife, Bobbie and Bob Overshon and wife, Linda all of Dixon; and other relatives and friends.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Berniece will indeed be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
