Betty Jane Stratman, age 88, of Freeburg, was born August 11, 1933, at Freeburg, a daughter of Anton Christopher and Odelia Catherine (Haller) Gradel, and passed from this life Sunday, March 13, 2022, in StoneBridge, Westphalia.

She was a lifelong member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Freeburg, and while growing up, attended Holy Family School as well.  During her working life, Betty was employed at Quaker Window Products Company, Freeburg, until her retirement.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Stratman include:  Her daughter, Laurie Newbound and fiancé, Tim Boessen, of Freeburg; one sister, Bernice Marie Gradel, of Freeburg; one granddaughter, Ashley Lancaster and husband, Tom, of the Country of Kuwait; one great-grandson, Milo Lancaster; nephews; nieces; and other relatives and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her father, Anton, on November 4, 1979; her mother, Odelia, on December 28, 1986; two brothers, James Steven Gradel on September 29, 2020, and Felix Gradel on November 17, 2005; and one granddaughter, Kelly Lynn Newbound, on May 15, 2005.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 18, 2022, in Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, 406 South Main Street, Vienna, MO 65582, with her service following in the funeral chapel at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. William D. Debo officiating.

Interment will be in Holy Family Cemetery, Freeburg, under the direction Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna.
