Beulah Darlene Purdham, age 89, of Vienna, was born June 6, 1936, in rural Maries County, a daughter of Herman Andrew and Opal Louellen (Gillispie) Shanks, and passed from this life on  Friday, March 20, 2026, at Capital Region Hospital, Jefferson City.

She was united in marriage on November 2, 1954, in Vienna, to Robert Lynn Purdham, who preceded her in death on August 7, 2000.

During her working life, Beulah worked for Bray's Store, was a manager at MFA Grocery Store, and for the Missouri Department of Revenue, retiring after ten plus years.

Beulah was a member of the Church of Christ, Vienna. She was an avid quilter, seamstress, and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Those left to mourn the passing of Beulah include: her four daughters, Lynne Terpstra and husband, Lee of Jefferson City, Mary Ann Hammock of Springfield, Janice Lindeman and husband, Byron of Casa Grande, Arizona, and Joyce Huffman and husband, Jeff of Vienna; 9 grandchildren, Andrew Terpstra and wife Lizzy, Peter Terpstra, Emily Hammock, Erin Mock and husband Shawn, Amy Fencl and husband Zach, Katie Apfel and husband Gary, Kacey Hays and husband Adam, Hayley Huffman Kuntzman and husband Alex, and Molly Helmig and husband Kenny; 11 great grandchildren, Beau, Landry, Morgan, Macie, Keegan, Foxx, Lily, Theo, Jovie, Callie, Blake; 6 great-great grandchildren, Henry, Gus, Owen, Bennett, Wesley, and a little baby girl on the way;  brother, Delbert Shanks and wife, Patricia of Vienna; three sisters-in-law, Naomi Shanks of Vienna, Arlene Shanks of Vienna, and Ann Meadows of Elkton, Virgina; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband of 45 years, Robert, Beulah was preceded in death by her father, Herman Shanks on August 10, 1991; her mother, Opal Shanks on July 23, 2003; two brothers, Leonard Shanks on July 4, 2010, and Lloyd Shanks on December 29, 2018.

Visitation for Mrs. Beulah Purdham will be held Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., and Friday, March 27, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of her service at 11:00 a.m., all in the Church of Christ, 914 Highway 63, Vienna, MO 65582, with Josh White officiating.

Interment will be held in the Bethel Cemetery, Vienna, under the direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna. Pallbearers for Mrs. Beulah Purdham will be Andrew Terpstra, Peter Terpstra, Shawn Mock, Adam Hays, Alex Kuntzman, and Kenny Helmig.
