Bill L. Pritzel, of Koeltztown, was born January 31, 1948, at Higginsville, the son of Gilbert V. and Evelyn L. (Kidd) Pritzel, and departed this life at 10:54 a.m., Wednesday, December 30, 2015, in the Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City. Bill had been in failing health for some time and had attained the age of 67 years, 10 months, and 30 days.

He was united in marriage on June 18, 1982, at Fulton, to Linda Catherine Tappel. Bill was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert, on April 1, 2013, and his mother, Evelyn, on April 25, 2005.

On November 30, 1966, at St. Louis, he entered into active federal service in the Army of the United States and served until August 29, 1969, when he was honorably discharged at Fort Polk, Louisiana. A man of excellent character, Bill's "Honorable Discharge" is a testimonial of honest and faithful service to his country during the Vietnam War.

He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church, Jefferson City, a member of the Roscoe Enloe American Legion Post No.5, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 2693 both of Jefferson City. Bill had been an electrician for 35 years and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local Union No. 257.

Those left to mourn the passing of Bill include: His wife, Linda of the home in Koeltztown; his children, Charise and Nathan Sprengel, Cape Girardeau; and Nicholas and Angie Pritzel, Crystal Lakes; one step-son, Shawn and Shelley Kell, Koeltztown; seven grandchildren, Connor Pritzel, Anthony Pritzel, Abby Pritzel, Kyle Pritzel, Ryleigh Sprengel, Savanna Sprengel; and Brynn Sprengel; three sisters, Judi and Tom Hasler, Holts Summit; Kay and Darold Niemeier, Jefferson City; and Vickie and Chuck Zavoral, Jefferson City and other relatives and friends.

Interment with full military honors under the direction of the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes was in the St. Boniface Cemetery, Koeltztown.
