Bonita Mary Kleffner, of Westphalia, formerly of Brinktown, was born on August 2, 1926, at St. Anthony, a daughter of Henry and Veronica (Otto) Buechter, and departed this life at 1:06 p.m., on Saturday, November 14, 2015, in the Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City. Mrs. Kleffner had been in failing health for some time and had attained the age of 89 years, 3 months, and 11 days.
Mrs. Kleffner was united in marriage on September 26, 1953, at St. Anthony, to Henry Joseph Kleffner, and to this union, three children were born. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Joseph Buechter and John Buechter; and one sister, Josephine Herx.
She was a member of the Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Brinktown; the Ladies Auxiliary of Lischwe-Brandel American Legion Post No. 354, Brinktown; the Ladies Auxiliary of the Argyle Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 8041, Argyle; and the St. Ann's Ladies Sodality of Guardian Angels Church, Brinktown. Mrs. Kleffner enjoyed gardening; was an accomplished seamstress; a great cook; had a great sense of humor; and will be remembered most for her laughter. She was a devoted wife and mother, always diligent in providing for the needs of her family.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Kleffner include: Her husband, Henry J. Kleffner, Westphalia; one son, Henry G. Kleffner and wife, Lynn, Meta; two daughters, Judy Stegeman and husband, Tom, Westphalia; and Doris Dorge and husband, Bill, Wardsville; one sister, Cecilia Luebbert, Loveland, Colorado; nine grandchildren, Lindsey Thomas and husband, Gary, Tyler Stegeman and wife, Karli, Kelly Stegeman, Dustin Dorge, Craig Dorge and wife, Hannah, Natalie Dorge, Ashley Woods and husband, Tyler, Chase Kleffner, and Paige Kleffner; four great-grandchildren, Rylee Thomas, Morgyn, Myles and Henley Woods; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m., Tuesday, November 17, 2015, with a Prayer Service at 5 p.m., and 9 – 10 a.m., Wednesday morning, November 18, 2015, all in the Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 105 North Main, Brinktown.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mrs. Kleffner at 10 a.m., Wednesday morning, November 18, 2015, in the Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Brinktown, with the Rev. Matthew Flatley officiating.
Interment will be in the Guardian Angels Cemetery, Brinktown, under the direction of the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes. Active pallbearers for Mrs. Kleffner will be Tyler Stegeman, Dustin Dorge, Craig Dorge, Gary Thomas, and Tyler Woods. Honorary pallbearer will be Chase Kleffner.
Masses or Memorials to the Guardian Angels Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund are suggested by the family of Mrs. Kleffner with envelopes available at the Guardian Angels Catholic Church or the Vienna Office of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes at 406 South Main Street.
