Obituary

Brian Keith Simmons, of St. Robert, formerly of Dixon, was born on October 18, 1974, at Sasebo, Japan, a son of Keith Wayne and Michelle (Miller) Simmons, and departed this life at 6:58 p.m., on Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at his residence in St. Robert.  He had attained the age of 45 years, 4 months, and 11 days.

Brian had accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and had followed Him in baptism.  At the time of his passing, he was actively involved in the Men's Encounter Ministry in Lebanon and the Men's Encounter Post Ministry program at the River in Buckhorn.  Brian had been a student of the Dixon R-1 Schools and had studied at the Ozark Technical College in Springfield.  He had a deep love for music, had composed numerous musical selections, and was a talented drummer and guitarist.  Brian was also a very gifted artist, an extremely talented tattoo artist, and created all of his own designs relating to faith, hope, love, and salvation in Jesus Christ.

Those left to mourn the passing of Brian include:  His son, Kyler Blaze Simmons, of Richland; his mother and step-father, Michelle and Grover Johnson, of Dixon; one brother, Jason Simmons, and wife, Christina, of Branson; one niece, Kylee Marie Brown, of Dixon; his maternal uncles, Harold Johnson Miller and wife, Stephanie, of Weyers Cove, Virginia, Richard Wayne Miller of the state of Tennessee, and Harold Michael Miller of Jerome; three maternal great-aunts, Evelyn Miller Sandin and Shirley Miller, both of Bridgewater, Virginia, and Bonnie Eye of Harrisonburg, Virginia; his step-brothers and sisters, Joey Johnson, Janet Lyons and husband, Scott, and Jamie Johnson and wife, Dena, all of Dixon; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Keith Wayne Simmons; one brother, Gregory Keith Simmons; one niece, Gracie Ellen Simmons; paternal grandparents, Bill and Viola Rye; maternal grandparents, Harold and Charlene (Eye) Miller; one step-sister, Vicky Johnson; and one step-brother, John Johnson.

A family graveside funeral service for Brian Keith Simmons is being planned and will be held in the Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Bridgewater, Virginia, with arrangements by Birmingham-Martin in Dixon.

Interment for Brian Keith Simmons will be near his little brother, Gregory Keith Simmons, and other members of his family.  Honorary pallbearers for Brian will be Jason Simmons, Michael Miller, Scotty McCall, J.J. Stokes, Kevin Rowden, Matthew Rowden, Andy Christian, and John Parker.
