Obituary

Byrnece Sjostadt Finn, of Vienna, was born on September 21, 1925, at St. Louis, a daughter of Bernard Sjostadt and Pearl (Peterbush) Lake, and departed this life on Saturday, June 29, 2019, in the Lakeside Meadows, Osage Beach. She had attained the age of 93 years, 9 months, and 8 days.

Byrnece was united in marriage on July 10, 1945, at Rolla, to the love of her life, Willard Eck "Decky" Finn, and to this union, three children were born.

During her life, she was always active in her community in supporting her church; being a Girl Scout leader for twenty years, belonging to numerous garden clubs, singing in the Jefferson City choir, a leader in organizing Christmas home tours in Vienna, serving as a Republican Committee Woman; working at the election polls for many years, and being a leader and member of the Thursday TOPS Club in Vienna for many years. Byrnece was a stay at home Mom, a devoted housewife and homemaker, and always a diligent person in providing for the needs of her family. She was a talented person in home maintenance, in gardening, in home décor, in decorating for Christmas, and just the best at hosting any dinner party or social gathering. "Muz", as she was called by her family and friends, will be greatly missed.

Those left to mourn the passing of Byrnece include: Her son, Gary Finn, and wife, Deborah, of Sunrise Beach; her four grandchildren, Carrie Elizabeth Finn of Moab, Utah, Reid Allen Finn and wife, Tara, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and twins, John Coleman Brewer and wife, Megan, of Eugene, Oregon, and Paul Edward Brewer and wife, Lisa, of Scarsdale, New York; her six great-grandchildren, Maeve Finn, Calvin Finn, Silas Finn, Beckham Brewer, Boston Brewer, and Jordyn Brewer; one brother, Karl Frederick "Fred" Lake, and wife, Carolyn, of Vienna; her Finn and Lake nephews and nieces with greats as well; other relatives; and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Decky, on March 3, 2007; one infant son, Bernard Colman Finn, on January 29, 1954; her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Jean "Winky" Brewer on April 18, 2019, and her husband, Robert Dale Brewer, on November 26, 1998; her father, Bernard, on February 5, 1951; her mother, Pearl, on March 11, 1993; three brothers, John Henry Lake at age 18, Richard Bernard Lake in 1981, and Robert Edward Lake in 2018; and her sister, Mary Ellen "Molly" Ragan, in June of 2009.

Visitation for Mrs. Byrnece Sjostadt Finn will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m., on Wednesday, July 3, 2019, in the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, 406 South Main Street, Vienna, Missouri 65582, however the funeral home will be open early for the convenience of those on their way to work and wanting to stop by.

Graveside Funeral Services for Mrs. Byrnece Sjostadt Finn will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 3, 2019, in the Vienna Public Cemetery, Highway 42 West, Vienna, Missouri 65582, with the Rev. Matthew Flatley officiating, under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home in Vienna. Mrs. Finn's husband, Decky, was born on July 3, 1923, at Vienna, which is a special date for her service. Pallbearers for Byrnece will be John Ragan, Bob Ragan, David Ragan, Frank Lake, Ed Lake, and Karl Lake.

Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Byrnece Sjostadt Finn are suggested by her family to the Visitation Inter-Parish School at P.O. Box 171, Vienna, Missouri 65582, or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 250, Vienna, Missouri 65582, or envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
