Obituary

Caroline Sue "Carol" Bowlin, of Dixon, was born on December 13, 1946, at Los Angles, California, a daughter of Glenn Elwyn and Dixie Lee (Eader) McGehee, and departed this life on Tuesday evening, May 2, 2017, at her residence, near Dixon. Carol had attained the age of 70 years, 4 months, and 19 days.

She was preceded in death by her father, Glenn, on August 14, 1976; her mother, Dixie, on October 17, 1995; one son-in-law, Timothy Ralph "Tim" Parker, on July 7, 2016; and one brother-in-law, Anthony George Johnson, Sr., on March 5, 2009.

Carol had accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Personal Savior, and followed Him in baptism early in life. At the time of her passing, she was a member of First Baptist Church, Dixon. She was a 1964 graduate of Dixon High School, was a food service manager at Fort Leonard Wood with the Army and Air Force Exchange Services (AAFES) for over thirty years, and later was a clerk for EDP Enterprises, prior to her retirement. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and was always diligent in providing for the needs of her family. Carol was willing to do anything for anyone and enjoyed cooking, sewing, shopping, and spending time with her family, especially the holidays.

Those left to mourn the passing of Carol includes: Her daughter, Lisa Ann Parker, Dixon; two grandchildren, Abigail Sue "Abby" Parker and Nathaniel Lee "Nate" Parker, both of Dixon; one sister, Linda Johnson, Dixon; one nephew and two nieces, Anthony George Johnson, Jr., and wife, Danielle, Taylorville, Illinois; Theresa Lynn Johnson, and April Dawn Shull, and husband, Alfred, all of Springfield, Illinois; three great-nephews, Curtis Johnson, Matthew Johnson, and Bryce Shull; and many other relatives and friends.
