Obituary

Catherine Agnes "Katie" Risse, of Vienna, was born March 19, 1936, a daughter of Samuel Francis and Anna Sylvesta (Sudheimer) Crider, and departed this life at 3:42 p.m., on Monday, December 30, 2019, in Capital Region Hospital, Jefferson City.  She had attained the age of 83 years, 9 months and 11 days.

Katie was united in marriage on December 19, 1953, at Bryan Air Force Base, Texas, to Martin John Risse and to this union, four children were born.

Katie was a member of the Visitation Catholic Church, Vienna. She had worked at Brown Shoe Factory in Dixon, and later as a cook for the Visitation School, as well as being a loving and devoted housewife and homemaker. Katie loved to play games and enjoyed sisters day, a once a month outing with her sister as well as being an avid fisherwoman.

Those left to mourn the passing of Katie include: one son, Kenny Risse and wife, Jeanie, Dixon; three daughters, Sandra White and  husband, Randall, Dixon; Jan Greig and husband, Jim, and Paula Walters and husband, Rick, all of Rolla; one brother, Harold Crider, Tuscumbia; four sisters, Betty West, Lucy Branson and Shirley Huffman all of Vienna and Linda Crider, Jefferson City; eight grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Katie was preceded in death by her husband, Martin on August 1, 2011; her step-son, Gary Risse; two brothers, Norman Crider on November 23, 1984 and Leo Crider on September 24, 2018 and two sisters, Lois Crider on March 10, 2008 and Georgia Hood on October 11, 2018; and one son-in-law, Jim Ramsey on September 9, 2009.

Visitation for Mrs. Risse will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., in the Visitation Catholic Church, 105 North Main Street, Vienna Missouri 65582, on Saturday, January 18, 2020, with the Mass of Christian Burial following at 11:00 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. Matthew Flatley.

Interment will be in the Visitation Cemetery, Vienna, under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna.  Honorary pallbearers will be Corey Ramsey, Gordon White, Justin Risse, and Preston Walters.

Masses or Memorial contributions are suggested to the Visitation Catholic Church in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 250, Vienna, Missouri 65459.
