Charles Louis Kloeppel, age 68, of Wood River, Illinois, was born July 25, 1954, at Greenfield, Hancock County, Indiana, the son of Leo I. and Juliana (Abrason) Kloeppel, and passed from this life Sunday, December 25, 2022, in Bria of Wood River, Wood River, Illinois.

His paternal grandparents were Fritz and Mary (Bremer) Kloeppel of Brinktown, Maries County, Missouri, with his grandfather, Fritz, having been born in Osage County, Missouri, and his grandmother, Mary, having been born in Maries County, Missouri.  We believe his father's middle name is Ignatius after his maternal grandfather, Ignatius Bremer.

At the time of their marriage, his parents were living in St. Louis, where his mother was living at the time of her death.  Her funeral and burial were held in Marissa, Illinois, where she was born and raised.  Charles' final wish, following his passing, was to be brought back to Brinktown, Missouri, and interred next to his beloved father, Leo Kloeppel.

Charles is survived by his dear friend, Raven Fahle, of Reno, Nevada; Brinktown, Missouri, cousins; Marissa, Illinois, relatives; Wood River, Illinois, friends; and St. Louis, Missouri, friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leo, on August 30, 1965; his mother, Juliana, on October 16, 2003; paternal grandparents; maternal grandparents; great-grandparents; and many other relatives in Maries
County.

Private inurnment will be next to his father, Leo Kloeppel, in the Holy Guardian Angels Cemetery, Brinktown, Missouri, under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Dixon, Missouri.
