Chester Lee Wooters, of Dixon, was born on December 26, 1942, near Dixon, the son of Alfred and Donna Genevieve (Ames) Wooters, and departed this life on Thursday afternoon, April 9, 2015, in the Frontier Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, St. Charles. Mr. Wooters had been in failing health for some time and had attained the age of 72 years, 3 months, and 13 days.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred; his mother, Donna, on February 20, 2014; one sister, Melba Elkins on October 18, 2014; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.

Chester was a United States Army Veteran. He was a true entrepreneur and had been the proprietor of several business including, an excavating business, a convince store, a saw mill, a car salesmen, as well as working in construction prior to his retirement. He was a talented musician and enjoyed music especially playing his guitar. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed deer hunting, and fishing.

Those left to mourn the passing of Chester include: Two sons, Curtis Wooters, St. Charles; and Chris and Mary Wooters, Leander, Texas; one sister, Ruby and Edward "Eddie" Smith, Dixon; five grandchildren, Ashley Wooters, Alicia Wooters, Alison Wooters, Clayton Owens, and Jacquelyn Owens; one great-grandson, Tyrone Walker; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted for Mr. Wooters at 11:00 a.m., on Monday morning, April 13, 2015, in the Dixon American Legion Hall with Bro. Rich Helton, Wright City, officiating.

Interment with full military honors was in the Dixon Cemetery, under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes. Pallbearers for Mr. Wooters were Mark Roberson, Brad Roberson, Bobby Helton, Steven Helton, Mark Peroutka, and George Roberson.
