Clarence Herman Falter, of Argyle, was born on October 5, 1929, at Koeltztown, a son of Henry and Mary Johanna (Bax) Falter, and departed this life on Monday, July 1, 2019, at his residence after suffering an apparent heart attack. He had attained the age of 89 years, 8 months, and 27 days.
Clarence was united in marriage on August 30, 1958, at Argyle, to the former Miss Frances Irene Deeken, and to this union, four children were born.
On February 11, 1952, at St. Louis, Clarence entered into active federal service in the Army of the United States and served until January 16, 1954, when he was honorably discharged at Fort Knox, Kentucky, at the rank Corporal. He had served in Germany with the Svc Btry 452d Armd FA Bn and was awarded the AOM (Germany). A man of excellent character, Clarence's "Honorable Discharge" is a testimonial of honest and faithful service to his country.
Clarence was a member of the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Argyle, and the Argyle Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8045. He was a lifelong farmer and was still working up until his passing. Clarence enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Falter include: His four children, Donna Haller and husband, David, of Vienna, Carol Hendley of Iberia, Judy Falter of Annapolis, and James Falter and wife, Carol, of Argyle; his ten grandchildren, Amy Neier (Cory), Cindy Raithel (Nick), Sara Campbell (Steven), Jeff Hendley (Morgan), Matt Hendley (Susie), Josh Falter (Haley), Amber Brown (Steve), Courtney Falter, Jeremy Falter, and Cody Horton (Jennifer); his twelve great-grandchildren, Claire Neier, Annie Neier, Emma Raithel, Henry Raithel, Maci Campbell, Graci Campbell, Hallie Hendley, Lilly Hendley, Remington Hendley, Reagan Brown, Kara Brown, and Lane Hendley; his six siblings, Mary Wieberg of Koeltztown, and Pauline Wieberg, Josephine Steinman, Bernadine Wieberg, Frances Wieberg and husband, Urban, and Bernard Falter, all of Argyle; both nephews and nieces with greats as well, and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty years, Frances, on September 2, 2018; one son-in-law, David Hendley; one grandson, Todd Horton; one great-granddaughter, Taliya Helton; his father, Henry, on February 2, 1993; his mother, Mary, on October 11, 1970; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henry and Elizabeth (Redel) Deeken.
Visitation for Mr. Clarence H. Falter will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., on Friday, July 5, 2019, with a VFW Memorial Service and Rosary at 4:00 p.m., and from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. , on Saturday, July 6, 2019, in the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, One Church Lane, Argyle, Missouri 65001.
The Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Clarence H. Falter will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, July 6, 2019, in the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, One Church Lane, Argyle, Missouri 65001, with the Rev. Matthew Flatley as the Celebrant.
Interment, with full military honors, will be in the St. Aloysius Cemetery, Argyle, under the direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home in Vienna. Pallbearers for Clarence will be Josh Falter, Jeremy Falter, Matt Hendley, Jeff Hendlley, Cody Horton, and Cory Neier.
Memorial contributions, in memory of Mr. Clarence H. Falter, are suggested by his family for Masses with envelopes available at the Church or in care of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 250, Vienna, Missouri 65582.
