Obituary

Claude Arthur Veasman, of Brinktown, was born on May 6, 1937 in Brinktown, a son of George Frederick "Fred" and Elizabeth Antionette (Wenzel) Veasman, and departed this life at 9:05 a.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2015, at his residence. Claude had been in failing health for the past three months. He had attained the age of 77 years.
Claude was united in marriage on November 23, 1963, at Visitation Church in Vienna, to the former Miss Bernice Buschmann, and to this union five children were born. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred, on January 5, 1977; his mother, Elizabeth on June 21, 2000; two brothers, Albin Veasman on February 9, 2006, John Vernon Veasman on April 21, 2013, and one sister, Jane Rowden on July 13, 2008.
Claude was a lifelong, faithful member of the Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Brinktown, where he served on various committees. He was a lifelong cattle farmer and had a great love for working the land. He enjoyed playing cards, gardening, bluegrass music and hunting, particularly coyote hunting. He was a people person and always enjoyed visiting with family and friends.
Those left to mourn the passing of Claude include: His beloved wife of 51 years, Bernice Veasman, of the home, three sons, Tom Veasman and wife, Dianne, Scott Veasman and wife, Amy, Joe Veasman and wife, Sara, all of Brinktown. Two daughters, Jan Tappel and husband, Keith of Argyle, and Teri Black and husband, Dave of St. Peters. One brother, Donley Veasman and wife, Charlotte of Brinktown; and Agnes Wilson, Overland. Seventeen grandchildren, Ryan, Emily, Elizabeth, Will, Ben, Grace, Maggie, Austin and Weston Veasman all of Brinktown; Blake, Kelly, Katie, Klaire and John Tappel all of Argyle and Allison, Lauren and Elena Black all of St. Peters; and many others relatives and friends.
The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for Claude at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2015, in the Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Brinktown, with Rev. Matthew Flatley officiating.
Interment will be in the Guardian Angels Cemetery, Brinktown, under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna. Pallbearers for Claude were Ronnie Rowden, Donnie Rowden, Cary Wilson, Dave Wilson, Bill Veasman, and Earl Veasman.
