Clifford Clarence Wagner, Sr., age 88, of Vienna, was born May 29, 1935, in Maries County, a son of Clarence Emory and Ella M. (Koerber) Wagner, and passed from this life on Thursday, May 23, 2024, in Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City surrounded by his family.
He was united in marriage on March 20, 1986, in Meta, to the former Ms. Shirley Sandra Stratman, who preceded him in death on June 15, 2021.
Clifford accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and was baptized at an early age and at the time of his passing he was attending Vienna Christian Life Assembly of God.
During his working life, Clifford was employed by Quaker Windows, retiring after 39 years he then worked for Wagner Construction and WW Cedar. Clifford was an avid cattleman and farmer with a love for horses, but he enjoyed most spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Those left to celebrate the life of Clifford include: his children, Clifford (Mary) Wagner, Jr., Vienna and Denise Branch, Brinktown; his step-children, David (Rita) Juergens, Vienna, and Arnold (Helen) Juergens, Dixon; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; 18 step-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his loving wife of 35 years, Shirley, he was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Ella Wagner; one great-grandson, Blake Joseph Wagner; step-sons, Mike Dawson, Pat Dawson, Bobby Dawson, Danny Dawson, Ronald Juergens, and Terry Juergens; one son-in-law, Marcus Dale Branch; one step-granddaughter, Rachel Ann Juergens; one step-great-grandson, Anthony Wayne Juergens.
Visitation for Mr. Clifford Wagner, Sr. will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 28, 2024, and from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at the Vienna Christian Life Assembly of God, 1111 Highway 63 North, Vienna, MO 65582, with his funeral service following at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Clifford C. Wagner, Jr., officiating.
Interment will be in the Rader Cemetery, near Vienna, under the direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna. Pallbearers for Mr. Clifford Wagner, Sr. are Shawn Wagner, Lucas Bax, Derek Groene, Eric Juergens, Brandon Branch, and Rick Dawson.
Immediately following the cemetery committal ceremony for Clifford, the Wagner family extends an invitation to all in attendance to share a meal with them in the fellowship hall of Vienna Christian Life Assembly of God, 1111 Highway 63 North, Vienna, MO 65582, located on the lower level of the church.
Memorials are to Rader Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund with envelopes available at the funeral home or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 250, Vienna, MO 65582.
