Cloris Burdette "Fuzz" Gant, of Vienna, was born September 23, 1934, at Greely, a son of Mont Esco and Byrtle Alice (Lowrance) Gant, and departed this life on Sunday, November 29, 2015, at his residence near Vienna. Fuzz had been in failing health for some time and had attained the age of 81 years, 2 months, and 6 days.
Fuzz was united in marriage on April 27, 1968, at Vienna, to Janet Sue Eads. He was preceded in death by one son, Jeffery "Bucky" Eads, on April 11, 1986, his father, Mont, on January 16, 1983; his mother, Byrtle, on February 20, 1993; two sisters, Bernadine Ferguson, on July 3, 1999; and Wilmetta Finn, on October 12, 2002.
Fuzz was a member of the Vienna United Methodist Church, Vienna, and enjoyed cutting wood, the Cardinals baseball games, basketball games, and spending time with his family, and especially his grandchildren. He was a truck driver for several companies including Quaker Window Products, Freeburg.
Those left to mourn the passing of Fuzz include: His wife, Sue, of the home near Vienna; three daughters, Becky and Steve Peterman, Angie and Dale Struemph, and Amy and Vernon Helton, all of Vienna; one brother, Jerry and Dorothy Gant, Vienna; two sisters, Imogene Jones and companion, Bob Lane, Licking; and Sandy and Bob Ragan, Jefferson City; four grandchildren; Miranda Peterman, Makayla Peterman, Alexi Struemph, Veronica Helton; two step grandchildren, Leslie Barnhart and Marcus Struemph; two step-great-grandchildren, Hudson Barnhart and Hoyt Barnhart; and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 5 – 7 p.m., Thursday, December 3, 2015 and 9 – 10 a.m., Friday, December 4, 2015, all in the Vienna United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, December 4, 2015, in the Vienna United Methodist Church, with Rev. Lynn Quist officiating.
Interment will be in the Vienna Public Cemetery, under the direction of the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes. Pallbearers for Fuzz will be Jerry Gant, Steve Peterman, Dale Struemph, Vernon Helton, Nick Willoughby, and Dusty Foster.
