Cody A. Billups, of Vienna, was born on March 11, 1992, and departed this life at 4:32 p.m., on Monday afternoon, March 27, 2017, in the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics, Columbia. He had attained the age of 25 years and 16 days.
Cody had been impaired since birth and was never able to attend school or have an occupation with Vienna becoming his home in 2014, when he became a resident of the Maries Manor Care Center. Through the years, there were good times and bad times with his condition, however, when the time came, he passed away from a progressive degenerative condition from Cerebral Palsy.
When we observe life in general, the circumstances of how one has to live his life does not always seem fair as exemplified by Cody's life, and although through adverse circumstances, he is still able to share himself with others through the transplant services program and be a BEACON OF HOPE for many people with dire health issues.
Those left to mourn the passing of Cody include his many resident friends and staff members at Maries Manor, who have become his family and will miss him greatly.
The poem IT IS ENOUGH TO KNOW by Patience Strong states –If it were given to know the whole of Life's unfolding plan . . . If we could see what waits for us out there beyond our little span . . . There'd be no lovely mystery . . . no wonder at the heart of things . . . for I, with open eyes, would see the answer to our questionings. It is well that God keeps His secrets . . . for if everything we knew - Where would be the need of faith to strive for ends beyond our view? It is enough to know that He is there and here . . .below . . . above . . . That all the boundless universe is in His hands . . . And He is Love.
