Coad "Cody" Murphy Stricklan, age 45, of Vienna, was born November 1, 1976, at Jefferson City, a son of Berry Samuel and Melanee Jane (Murphy) Stricklan, and passed from this life Thursday, March 10, 2022, after suffering an apparent heart attack.

He was united in marriage November 8, 1997, at Vienna, to the former Miss Angela Renee James, and to this union, three children were born.

Cody was a member of the Vienna United Methodist Church and a 1995 graduate of Maries R-1 High School, Vienna, Local #257 and also "Co-Founder of the Left Field Lounge Lizards".  He was a baseball coach for many years in Vienna, a leader in FFA and 4-H activities, and the Vienna Lion Club.  He was employed by MidStates Energy Company as an Industrial Electrician and was a certified AI Technician as well.  During his free time, Cody enjoyed hunting, fishing, coaching, and watching his children play sports.

Those left to mourn the passing of Cody include:  His wife, Angie, of their home near Vienna; his children, Maddie Brianne Stricklan (Jacob Bax), Gavin Murphy Stricklan, and Cash Wesley Stricklan, all of Vienna; his parents, Berry and Melanee Stricklan, of Vienna; his brother, Jeffrey Samuel Stricklan (Jessica), of Vienna; his nephews and nieces, Jaelee, Jude, and Josie Stricklan, and Logan and Landon James; his maternal grandfather, Lloyd Murphy, of Vienna; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Brian and Becky James, of Vienna; his grandmother-in-law, Velma Hayes, of Vienna; his brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Anthony James (Roxanne), of California, MO; and Adam James of Vienna; and many other relatives and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jimmie and Pauline Stricklan; and his maternal grandmother, Jane Murphy.

Visitation for Cody Stricklan will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 12 Noon, Monday, March 14, 2022, in the Vienna United Methodist Church, 104 Highway 63, Vienna, MO 65582, with his funeral service following at 12 Noon in the church with Rev. Karen Alden officiating.

Following the service in church, all in attendance are invited to the fellowship hall for a meal, after the meal a private family interment will be held at Faulkerson Cemetery.  Pallbearers for Cody will be Gavin Stricklan, Cash Stricklan, Jeffrey Stricklan, Anthony James, Adam James, and  J.C. Harker.  Honorary pallbearers will be Maddie Stricklan, Jacob Bax, Jaelee Stricklan, Jude Stricklan, Josie Stricklan, Logan James, Landon James and the Stricklan Bobcats.

Memorials are to the Cody Stricklan Memorial Scholarship Fund with envelopes at the church day of service or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 250, Vienna, MO 65582.
