Corbett H. Ready, age 90, of Ft. Myers, Florida, formerly of Vienna, was born July 9, 1936, at Vienna, a son of Henry and Ruby (Keeney) Ready, and passed from this life on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at his resident in Ft. Myers, Florida, surrounded by his loving family.

Corbett was an avid sports fan who loved watching the St Louis Cardinals baseball, St Louis Hawks basketball, and Kansas City Chiefs football teams play. He was a classic car fan who refurbished a 1957 Chevy Belair 2 door, 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu, and 1965 convertible Cadillac Deville.

He has made many friends over his life working over 30 years in the aviation industry and playing sports; basketball, baseball, and corkball. Corbett was instrumental in forming and keeping Corkball alive in Florissant MO which is also known as North County. He was known as Mr. Corkball in North County. Corbett was the original and only groundskeeper when the Florissant Area Khoury League (FAKL) was formed in Florissant. He coached and mentored many children during his life in North County.

Corbett loved spending time and making memories with his family and he will be missed by many.

Those left to celebrate the life of Corbett include: His two sons, Gregory Ready and his wife, Kay of Labadie; and Eddie Schmidt and wife, Jill of Ft. Myers, Florida ; two daughters, Connie Barringhaus and husband, Danny of Union, and Chris Mast and husband, Ed of Florissant; four grandchildren, Joe and Courtney Mast, Jessie and Justin Barringhaus, and Alexandria and Erin Ready; two brothers, Dean ready and wife, Alice, and Roger “Butch” Ready and wife, Elaine; and many other relatives and friends.

Corbett was preceded in death by two wives, Lucille Ready in 2005 (mother of Connie and Gregory) and Maureen Ready in 2026 (mother of Chris and Eddie); his father, Henry in 1995; his mother, Ruby in 1996; one sister, Georgia Cassmeyer in 2025; one brother, Gerald Ready in 2021; and a half sister, Della Koeller in 2012.

Visitation for Corbett will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026, 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. (noon) with his funeral service following at 12:00 p.m. (noon), all in the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home Chapel, 406 N. Main Street, Vienna, MO, with Brother Clifford Wagner officiating.

Interment will be in the Vienna Public Cemetery, Vienna, under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna. Pallbearers for Mr. Corbett Ready will be Gregory Ready, Roger Ready, Doug Ready, Brett Ready, Brice Ready, and Luke Ready.
