Dale Edward Shanks, of Vienna, was born January 9, 1959, at Jefferson City, a son of Leonard Leslie and Naomi Ruth (Loughridge) Shanks, and departed this life at 3:53 a.m., on Friday, August 5, 2016, in Barnes- Jewish Hospital, St. Louis. Dale had attained the age of 57 years, 6 months, and 27 days.

Dale was united in marriage on September 18, 1982, at Henley, to Donna Sue Robinett, and to this union, two sons were born. He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard, on July 4, 2010; and his father-in-law, Donald Robinett, on May 13, 2016.

He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and followed Him in baptism early in life, and at the time of passing, was a member of the Bethel Church of Christ, Vienna. Dale was a lifelong farmer in Maries County and had worked for the Missouri Farmers Association (MFA) for 8 years.

Those left to mourn the passing of Dale include: His wife, Donna Shanks, of the home near Vienna; two sons, Brandon Shanks and wife, Lindsey; and Ethan Shanks, all of Vienna; one granddaughter, Peyten Shanks; his mother, Naomi Shanks, of Vienna; one brother, Dwayne Shanks and wife, Sandra, of Meta; his mother-in-law, Mary Robinett, of Eldon; and other relatives and friends.
