Daniel Herman "Danny" Schwartze, age 73, of Argyle, was born September 25, 1948, at Jefferson City, a son of Cletus John and Florentine Mary (Steinman) Schwartze, and passed from this life Sunday, February 6, 2022, in Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City.
On May 29, 1967, at Jefferson City, Mr. Schwartze entered active federal service in the United States Navy and served until February 3, 1971, when he was honorably discharged at Quonset Point, Rhode Island, at the rank of Aviation Electronics Technician Radar Petty Officer 3 rd Class (ATR3). During his naval career, Danny was assigned to various duty stations including Key West, Florida, and Quonset Point, Rhode Island, as a member of the Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron and was awarded and entitled to wear the National Defense Service Medal (First Award). A man of excellent character, Daniel's "Honorable Discharge" is a testimonial of selfless and dedicated service to his country.
He was united in marriage February 18, 1989, at Kansas City, Missouri, to Judith A. (Shirk) Schwartze, who preceded her husband in death June 8, 2019.
During his working life, Danny was employed as a Corporate Engineer for Unilever Corporation, Kansas City, Missouri, for twelve years prior to his retirement on May 28, 2021. Following his retirement, he was really excited in being able to move back to his hometown of Argyle, and had purchased property, remodeling his new home, and at the time of his passing, was finishing up his garage and workshop for his retirement which was so very short lived. Daniel was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Argyle.
Those left to celebrate the life of Danny include: Two step-children, Dena Duhon (DeWayne), Blue Springs; and Gary Wieberg (Sheila), Peculiar; eight siblings, John Schwartze, Holts Summit; Peggy Sennott (Rick), Freeburg; Dorothy Schechterly (Gary), O'Fallon; Tom Schwartze (Amy), Russellville; Mary Elliott (Rick), Tipton; Sam Schwartze (Kerry), Flat Rock, Indiana; Ginger Kloeppel (Mike), Westphalia; and Steve Schwartze (Kathleen), St. Elizabeth; special friend, Brenda Czeschin, Bland; ten step-grandchildren; fifteen step-great-grandchildren; other relatives, and many friends.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his father, Cletus, on March 21, 2012; and his mother, Florentine, on May 24, 2021.
Visitation for Mr. Daniel Schwartze will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 12, 2022, in St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 1 Church Lane, Argyle, Mo 65001, with his Mass of Christian Burial following at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Basil Tigga as the celebrant and Deacon Michael Brooks and Deacon Steve Schwartze assisting, under the direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna.
Inurnment with military honors for Mr. Daniel Schwartze will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery, 701 North Engineer Avenue, Sedalia, Mo 65301, by Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna. Honorary pallbearers for Danny will be his God Children, Tara Hoelscher and Kenney Schwartze.
Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Daniel Schwartze are suggested by his family to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept 495, Memphis, TN 38101-9801, or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 250, Vienna, MO 65582, or envelopes will be available at the church day of service.
