Obituary

Darin Jeffrey McKinney, age 51, of Jefferson City, formerly of Vienna, was born July 5,1971, at Jefferson City, a son of James Harding and Darlene Louise (Tackett) McKinney, and passed from this life Monday, December 12, 2022, in Capitol Region Medical Center, Jefferson City.

He grew up attending First Baptist Church, Vienna, with his family and was a member there at the time of his passing.  Darin accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and was baptized early in life.  He especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to the big pond (the lake), jet skiing, going to the farm, and driving the skid loader.  Darin was a graduate of the Maries R-1 High School, Vienna, and a graduate of Linn Tech with an associate degree in drafting.  During his working life, Darin was the owner and operator of Construction Point Drafting.

Those left to celebrate the life of Darin include:  One son, Kole McKinney, of Warrensburg; one daughter, Kylie McKinney (Drew Bax), of Ashland; one brother and four sisters, Dennis McKinney (Karen) of Cypress, Texas, Denise Evans of Lake Ozark, Dawn Snodgrass (Rowdy) of Meta, Dee Griffin (John) of Olathe, Kansas, and Darla Schwartze (Gerald) of Argyle; nephews; nieces; other relatives, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jim, on November 5, 2011; his mother, Darlene, on July 16, 2010; one brother, William Douglas McKinney, on January 5, 1969; and one nephew, Dustin Thomas Evans, on November 6, 2014.

Visitation for Darin McKinney will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 16, 2022, in First Baptist Church, 1004 Highway 63, Vienna, Mo 65582, with his funeral service following at 11:00 a.m. in the church sanctuary with Pastor Chris Slocum officiating under the direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna.

Immediately following the funeral service for Darin, the McKinney family extends an invitation to all in attendance to share a meal with them being held in the American Legion Hall, 541 1 st Street, Vienna, Mo 65582.

A private family disposition ceremony for Darin will be held at the family farm near Vienna.  Honorary pallbearers for Darin are Brice Ready, Dale Basiger, Jamie Wiles, Scott Zimmer, and Shane Backues.

Memorial contributions in memory of Darin McKinney are suggested per the wishes of his family with envelopes available at church the day of his service or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 250, Vienna, Mo 65582.
