Darlene Joy Butler, of Vienna, was born on November 12, 1935, at Vienna, a daughter of William Lester and Lillie Lee (Kellison) Armer, and departed this life at 12:45 p.m., on Friday, July 31, 2020, at her residence in Vienna. She had attained the age of 84 years, 8 months, and 19 days.

During her working life, Darlene had been a self-employed childcare provider. She had also been a cook, and many in the Vienna community will remember her working for Sally Rollins at the restaurant.

Those left to mourn the passing of Darlene include: Her three daughters, Charlotte Pagano and husband, Robert, of Ladue, and Sheila Rowe-Schell, Lillie Glenn, and Alisha Boyster, all of Vienna; her five grandsons, Larry Schell, Vienna, Shannon Parmeley, Destin, Florida, Timothy Schell, Vienna, Shane Parmeley, Vienna, and Tommy Thompson, Jefferson City; her eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Janet Johannsen, Maryland Heights, and Phyllis Bax, Jefferson City; nephews, nieces, with greats as well; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Les, on December 2, 1995; her mother, Lillie, on April 9, 1978; and siblings, Jean Salsman, Bill Armer, Joe Armer, Larry Armer, and infant Mary Charlene Armer.

The way Darlene lived and interacted with others is the best tribute anyone could have for their life. Fond and precious memories will always be remembered in the hearts of her dear family, and all who knew and loved her. Honorary pallbearers for Darlene are Robert Pagano, Larry Schell, Shannon Parmeley, Timothy Schell, Shane Parmeley, and Tommy Thompson.
