Obituary

Deanna Cecile Mazza, of Dixon, was born August 10, 1938, at Crocker, a daughter of Arthur and Dorothy Jean (Heroux) Smith, and departed this life at 8:17 a.m., on Friday, July 3, 2015, in Westphalia Hills. She had been in failing health for some time and had attained age of 76 years, 10 months, and 21 days.

Mrs. Mazza was united in marriage on October 11, 1958, at Dixon, to Victor Antonio Mazza, and to this union, six children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vic, on May 2, 2006; her father, Arthur; her mother, Dorothy, and one grandson, Jarred Kloeppel.

She was a member of the St. Theresa Catholic Church, Dixon, and while living in Westphalia, had attended the St. Joseph Catholic Church. During her life in Dixon, she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Pulaski County Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4238, and was involved with the Dixon Senior Citizens meals on wheels program. Mrs. Mazza was an antique dealer and enjoyed operating her flea market booth for over thirty years. She also enjoyed fishing and dancing.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Mazza include: Three sons, Tony Mazza, Reston, Virginia; James Mazza and Clifton Mazza both of Westphalia; three daughters, Janet Kloeppel and husband, Charles, Westphalia; Leanna Alexander and husband, Travis, Checotah, Oklahoma; and Ashley Mazza and friend, Steve Helton, Crocker; one brother, Phillip Smith and wife, Cindy, Wellington, Colorado; two sisters, Judy Kinsley and husband, Tommy, Crocker; and Marsha Keen and husband, David, Clever; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.


The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for Mrs. Mazza at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, in the St. Theresa Catholic Church, Dixon, with the Rev. Joseph Hoi as the celebrant.

Masses or memorial contributions to the St. Theresa Cemetery, Dixon, are suggested by the family of Mrs. Mazza.
