Debra Jolene "Debbie" Vodicka, of Dixon, was born October 23, 1978, at Fountain Valley, California, a daughter of Kathy Renee Magers, and departed this life at 5:10 a.m., on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, in Mercy, Springfield. Debbie had been in failing health for some-time and had attained the age of 37 years, 6 months, and 25 days.
She was united in marriage on September 7, 2007, in New Mexico, to John Earl Vodicka.
She graduated from National Institute of Technology, Houston, Texas, in the top ten percent of her class as a medical assistant. Debbie was an advocate for children and youth and enjoyed adult coloring books and collecting stuffed animals. Some of her favorite things were spaghetti, Philly cheesesteaks, butterflies, and the color purple.
Those left to mourn the passing of Debbie include: Her husband, John Vodicka, of the home near Dixon; three daughters, Elizabeth Renee Smith and Callie Danielle Smith both of the Corinth, Mississippi; and Elizabeth Bivins, Dixon; two grandchildren, Ahrianna Bivins and Colton Bivins, Dixon; her mother and step-father, Kathy and Dennis Carver, Dixon; one brother, Sean Pinkman, Dixon; one sister, Alexis Carver and friend, Jeffery Azevedo, Cuba; one niece, Brianna Pinkman, Dixon; and other relatives and friends.
