Deekin James Wagner, age 19, of Vienna, was born April 3, 2005, at Jefferson City, the son of Travis Dwayne Wagner and Sara Lee Briggs, and passed from this life Friday, January 17, 2025.
Deekin's passion was baseball, but he also enjoyed the outdoors and loved fishing and hunting. He was known for his great taste in a good pair of Jordans. Deekin never knew a stranger and his personality was contagious. Deekin was a giver, even if it meant he would go with less. He always had a big smile and a heart to match, and as Deekin would say "Keep Your Head UP!".
At the time of his passing Deekin was employed with Bertoni Sanitation, Dixon, as a sanitation collector.
Those left to mourn the passing of Deekin include: his father, Travis Wagner of Vienna; his mother, Sara Briggs of Jefferson City; two sisters, Izzabella Duncan of Jefferson City and Everleigh June Wagner of Vienna; brother, Emerson Foster; paternal grandparents, Dwayne and Peggy Wagner of Vienna; maternal grandmother, Susan McMicken of Vienna; uncles and aunts, Casey and Becky Wagner of Stuttgart, Germany; Ryan S. Briggs of Freeburg; John R. and Rachel McMicken of Vienna; Cliffton W. and Brandy Briggs of Hanscom AFB, Massachusetts; Timothy A. and Amy Briggs of F.E. Warren AFB, Wyoming; cousins, Josh Wagner and Juliana Wagner both of Stuttgart, Germany; Katherine Burman, Andrea Neubert, Allison Briggs, and Emily Briggs all of Freeburg; Naomi McMicken and Reece McMicken both of Vienna; Damian Briggs, Dylan Briggs, and AJ Briggs all of Hanscom AFB, Massachusetts; Riley Briggs, Jace Briggs, and Hayden Briggs, all of F.E. Warren AFB, Wyoming; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Ronald L Briggs; his maternal step-grandfather, Roger "RC" McMicken; his aunt, Marina Lynn Milligan, and one cousin, Kaylynn Marie Milligan.
A celebration of Deekin's life will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Saturday, February 1, 2025, in the Knights of Columbus Hall, 206 6th Street, Vienna, MO 65582.
Memorial contributions in memory of Deekin are suggested by the family to help with funeral expense, with envelopes available at the funeral home or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 250, Vienna, MO 65582.
