Obituary

Delores Hickman, of Dixon, was born on November 23, 1948, at Kalamazoo, Michigan, a daughter of Larry and Josephine (Garza) Arreguin, and departed this life at 3:24 a.m., on Sunday, October 18, 2020, at her residence near Dixon. She had attained the age of 71 years, 10 months, and 26 days.

Delores was first united in marriage on March 15, 1965, at Baltimore, Maryland, to Douglas Lee George, and to this union, four daughters were born. She was later united in marriage to Kermit Hickman.

Delores was baptized at an early age while attending the Holy Cross Church and School in Lansing, Michigan. Following her first marriage and moving to Dixon, she was a waitress for many years at Ted Williams Steak House in Buckhorn, and for the Arches Restaurant in St. Robert. Delores continued her education and became a Certified Nurse Assistant and then was employed at Maries Manor Care and Rehabilitation in Vienna until her retirement in 1998. She was an extremely family oriented person and dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Delores enjoyed sewing, embroidery work, gardening, her flowers, and fishing.

Those left to mourn the passing of Delores include: Her four daughters, Tina George, Jacquie Hidalgo and husband, David, Molly Euler and husband, Mike, and Crystal Tadlock, all of Dixon; her eight grandchildren, Ciara Brade, LaShay Cox, Kyle Henson, Kristopher Henson, Magan Tadlock, Levi Clark, Bryce George, and Madison Euler; her five great-grandchildren, Sophia Libby, Cameron Brade, Madelyn Tadlock, Natalee Clark, and Kash Cox; the father of her daughters, Douglas George, of Dixon; one brother, Larry Arreguin, of Owosso, Michigan; seven sisters, Janie Greer of Dixon, Tillie Morlan and husband, Bill, of Linn Creek, Frances Marti of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Gloria Isom and husband, Carl, of Detroit, Michigan, Alice Wray and husband, Craig, of Lansing, Michigan, Sophie Hernandez and husband, Fernando, of Lansing, Michigan, and Lupe Bell of the state of Kentucky; special cousin, Denial Arreguin; nephews, nieces, with greats and great-greats as well; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her second husband, Kermit, in 2016; her father, Larry, in 2004; her mother, Josephine, in 2000; and two sisters, Annette Arreguin at age 16 years in 1977, and Mary Lou Carlson in December 12, 2018.

Visitation for Mrs. Delores Hickman will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., on Thursday, October 22, 2020, in the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, 105 East Third Street, Dixon, Missouri 65459, with her funeral service following at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Austin McCormick, Sheppard Baptist Church, near Dixon, officiating.

Interment will be in the Pisgah Cemetery, near Dixon, under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home in Dixon. Pallbearers for Mrs. Hickman will be David Hidalgo, Mike Euler, Levi Clark, Kyle Henson, Lewis Wilson, and Michael Wilson, and her honorary pallbearers will be Kristopher Henson, David Wilson, Carl Ison, Ben Dumas, and Bryce George.

Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Delores Hickman are suggested per the wishes of the family with envelopes available at the funeral home or in care of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box EE, Dixon, Missouri 65459.
