Dennis Allen Dains, age 90, of Meta, was born on September 25, 1934, at Waterloo, Illinois, a son of Albert and Viola Marcella (Dempke) Dains and passed from this life on Saturday, July 26, 2025, in the Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City.
Mr. Dains was united in marriage on August 27, 1955, at Bridgeton to Marie Cecilia Stiebel and to this union, three children were born. He was preceded in death by his wife on September 27, 2019; his parents, Albert and Viola and one sister, Anita Woosley.
Mr. Dains was a member of the Guardian Angel Catholic Church, Brinktown. He had worked for McDonald-Douglas as an assembly line inspector, retiring in 1990. He was "Mr. Fix It" and enjoyed working on tractors and cars. But above all, he enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Dains include: his children, Dennis Michael Dains, Jerome; Rita Lewis (Richard), Dixon and Theresa McCall (Bryon), of Meta; two brothers, Albert Dains, St. Louis and Jim Dains of the state of Florida; four grandchildren, Richard Lewis (Lisa); Michelle Illichman; Joshua Dains; and Cheyenne Haskett (Caleb); six great-grandchildren, Blake, Hailey, Brooklyn, Sophia, Joseph and Odin and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held for Mr. Dains from 1 p.m. until the time of his Mass at 2 p.m., all on Friday, August 15, 2025 in the Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Brinktown, with Rev. Basil Tigga and Deacon Michael Brooks celebrating.
Interment will be in the Guardian Angels Cemetery at a later date and time under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, 406 S. Main Street, Vienna, MO.
Memorial contributions are suggested by the family to the Ladies Quilting Group of the Church with envelopes at the church the day of his service or c/o Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home P.O. Box 250 Vienna, MO 65582.
