Obituary

Dennis Lee Lewis, of Vienna, was born on February 17, 1958, at Rolla, a son of Chester and Norma Lee (Steen) Lewis, and departed this life at 3:45 p.m., on Thursday, October 1, 2020, at his residence near Vienna. Mr. Lewis had attained the age of 62 years, 7 months, and 14 days.

Mr. Lewis was united in marriage on August 19, 1989, at Vienna, to the former Miss Marilyn Yvonne Honse, and to this union, two daughters were born.

Mr. Lewis was a member of the First Baptist Church, Vienna. He had worked as an electrician for the Parks and Recreation Department, Jefferson City, retiring in 2001 due to his failing health. Mr. Lewis enjoyed nature and outside activities, his chickens, hot wheels, and being with his family and friends.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Lewis include: His daughters, Haley Lewis and her friend, Tylor Hedgpeth, and Katy Honse and her friend, Richard Dippold, and, all of Vienna; four grandchildren, Hunter Herzing, Trevor Herzing, Ryder Herzing, and Michael Backues; his brother and sister-in-law, David and Debbie Lewis, Rolla; and many other relatives and friends.

Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn, on October 17, 2016; a daughter, Abigail "Abby" Lewis, on July 2, 2015; his father, Chester, on October 27, 2009; his mother, Norma, on July 9, 2017 and a brother, Darin Lewis, on June 14, 2016.

Visitation for Mr. Dennis Lee Lewis will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, in the First Baptist Church, 1004 Highway 63 South, Vienna, Missouri 65582, with funeral services following at 11:00 a.m. in the Church with the Rev. Chris Slocum, pastor officiating.

Interment will be next to his beloved wife and daughter in the Vienna Public Cemetery, under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home in Vienna. Pallbearers for Mr. Lewis will be Andrew Johnson, Barry White, Jon Burke, Joe Backues, Richard Dippold, Tylor Hedgpeth, and Hunter Herzing, with Trevor Herzing, Ryder Herzing, and Michael Backues serving as honorary pallbearers.
