Dennis George Weider, age 71, of Vienna, was born October 12, 1950, at Vienna, in Maries County, the son of George Bernard and Anna Magdalene (Kloeppel) Weider, and passed from this life Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at his residence near Vienna. Dennis passed away peacefully surrounded by family.
He was united in marriage January 3, 1970, at Argyle, to the former Miss Patricia Lucille Reinkemeyer, and to this union, three children were born.
Dennis was a member of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Vienna. He was a member of the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department and became Chief of the department November 15, 1978, and was Chief until 1998, when Donnie Stratman took over the position. Dennis also served as Chief of the Argyle Volunteer Fire Department prior to moving to Vienna and serving with the Vienna Department for over twenty-five years. He was Vienna City Superintendent for twenty-seven years beginning in 1975 and serving in that position until 2002. Dennis was owner and operator of Weider Excavating, Vienna, for his entire working life. He especially enjoyed fishing and always tried to catch the "big one".
Those left to mourn the passing of Dennis include: Three children, Christopher Bernard Weider of Vienna, Diane Marie Weider-Matson and husband, Michael, of Vienna, and Aaron William Weider of Osage Beach; two grandchildren, Pake Matson and Ellarie Matson; four sisters, Lois Weider, Charlotte Rowden and husband, Randy, Rita Juergens and husband, David, and Eileen Smith and husband, Michael, all of Vienna; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Floyd Crabtree of Alton, Raymond Reinkemeyer of Folk, William Reinkemeyer and wife, Anna Marie, of Jefferson City, Felix Reinkemeyer and wife, Sandy, of Taos, Marita Wansing and husband, Daniel, of Dixon, and Betty Reinkemeyer of Argyle; nephews; nieces; many other relatives; and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pat; his father, George; his mother, Anna; one sister, Joyce Crabtree; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bernard and Ella (Wieberg) Reinkemeyer, one brother-in-law, Leo Reinkemeyer; and one sister-in-law, Virginia Reinkemeyer.
Visitation for Mr. Dennis Weider will be held in Visitation Catholic Church, 105 North Main Street, Vienna, MO 65582, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, September 11, 2022, and from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 12, 2022, with his Mass of Christian Burial following at 11:00 a.m. in the church with Rev. Basil Tigga as celebrant and Deacon Mike McLaughlin assisting, under the direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna.
Interment for Dennis will be next to his wife, Pat, in Visitation Cemetery, Vienna. Pallbearers will be Kenny Wieberg, David Juergens, Randy Rowden, Leonard Reinkemeyer, Mike Smith, and Steve Peterman and honorary pallbearers will be Lois Weider, Charlotte Rowden, Rita Juergens, Eileen Smith, Becky Peterman, and Floyd Crabtree.
