Lillian Devon (Blanton) Null, of rural Dixon, was born on February 17, 1949, in Jackson, Tennessee, a daughter of J. C. and Martha Geneva (Jones) Blanton, and departed this life at 12:46 a.m., Wednesday morning, June 12, 2013, at her residence in rural Dixon. Devon had been in failing health for the past three years and had attained the age of 64 years, 3 months, and 25 days.
Devon was united in marriage on April 5, 1969, at Dixon, to Gary Lewis Null, and to this union, five children were born. She was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Lewis Null, at age 2 months, on October 19, 1976; her father on February 1, 1992; her mother on February 15, 2008; two sisters, Tennie Armilda Sinden on December 30, 1994, and Grace Caroline Hicks on February 5, 2012; her fathers-in-law, Rudolph Null and Cecil Massey; and two nephews, Randy Len Sinden on May 5, 1965, and Kyle Brouk on February 5, 1998; and one niece, Adrian Brouk on February 5, 1998.
Devon had accepted Jesus Christ as her Personal Savior and had followed her Lord in baptism early in life. Activities she especially enjoyed were reading, playing games, fishing, and particularly, "scratch off' tickets. During her working life, Devon had been employed at the Holiday Inn Motel, Rolla, in housekeeping for a number of years and later was employed as the Clearance Department Manager for the St. Robert Walmart for ten years until her failing health prevented her from working.
Those left to mourn the passing of Devon include: Her husband, Gary Null, of the home near Dixon; four daughters, Shannon Null and Sandra "Sam" Null, both of Dixon; Shelia Spacy and her husband, Monty, Hazelgreen; and Sherry Sharp, Dixon; six grandchildren, Heaven Morgan, Nash Maddox, Jayci Stephens, Austin Veasman-Null, Brandon Veasman, and Jasmine Sudheimer-Null; one brother, Gerald Blanton, Dixon; one sister, Thalia Brouk and her husband, Chris, Dixon; her mother-in-law, Wilma Massey, Dixon; nephews; nieces; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, June 15, 2013, in the Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes, with Bro. Ronnie Brown, First Baptist Church, Dixon, officiating.
