Dewayne Franks, of Vichy, was born on December 4, 1953, at Mountain View, Arkansas, a son of Elmo and Morning Virginia (Wallace) Franks, and departed this life at 2:35 a.m., on Monday, July 15, 2019, in the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics, Columbia. Mr. Franks had attained the age of 65 years, 7 months, and 11 days.

During his working life, Dewayne had been employed at Wolf and Patio Chef Charcoal, Quaker Window Products, as well as being a wood cutter.   He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing horse shoes, and loved cooking for his family and friends.

Those left to mourn the passing of Dewayne include: Two brothers, Lloyd Franks and Ronnie Franks both of Vichy; one sister, Marilyn Williams, Vienna; his step-mother, Anna Bell Franks, Vienna; several nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces; and other relatives and friends.

Dewayne was preceded in death by his father, Elmo on September 2, 2018; his mother Virginia in 2004; one brother, Larry Franks; and his step-father, Les Holt.

The way Dewayne lived and interacted with others was the best tribute anyone could have for their life. Fond and precious memories will always be remembered in the hearts of his dear family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

Dewayne's family will gather at a later occasion to remember his life at a service of remembrance.

Arrangements were by the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.
