Obituary

Donnell Edward Loughridge, age 82, of Bland, passed on to Heaven on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 3, 1941, in rural Belle, MO, the son of George and Ruby (Pearon) Loughridge.

Don was raised in the country on the family farm and except for a short time after his marriage, spent the rest of his life on his own farm.

On December 22, 1962, he was united in marriage to Sally Campbell, and to this union, four children were born.

Don believed in Jesus Christ as his Savior and was baptized early in life as a youth, and he was a long-standing member of the Crossroads Baptist Church. He enjoyed anything outside and loved being on the farm.

During his youth, Don worked for Buck Ridenhour Charcoal. He also spent several years working for International Harvester in Owensville, before joining his wife in the Loughridge Upholstery business for 50 years.

Those left to miss him and mourn his passing include: his loving wife of 61 years, Sally, of the home in Bland; daughter, Rebecca Winkelmann and husband, Larry, of Hermann; sons, Bruce Loughridge and wife, Dana, George Loughridge and wife, Brenda, and Joseph Loughridge and wife, Mandi, all of Bland; eleven grandchildren, Meghan Turner and husband, Kenny, of Jonesburg, Brian Winkelmann and wife, Olivia, of Chicago, Illinois,  Hunter Loughridge and wife, Alyssa, of Belle, Wyatt Loughridge and wife, Lillian, of Cooper Hill, Ethan Loughridge and special friend, Cassidy, of Belle, Logan Loughridge, of Bland, Emily Loughridge, of Bland, Cole Loughridge, of Bland, Vidella Jo Loughridge, of Linn,  McKenna Loughridge, of Bland, and Joey Loughridge, of Bland; four great-grandchildren, Colten, Emmett, Creedlyn, and Callahan; sisters, Naomi Shanks, of Vienna, and Dieanna Penserum, of Belle; numerous sisters and brothers-in-law; as well as nieces, nephews, and lots of friends.

He was preceded in death by parents, George and Ruby Loughridge; parents-in-law, Earl and Emmaline Campbell; brother, Robert J. Loughridge; sisters, Eleanor Ann Murray, Conway, Texas, Kathleen Rhodes, Belle, Bonnie Waller, Holt Summit; and great-grandson, Colter B. Loughridge, Cooper Hill.

Visitation for Mr. Donnell Loughridge will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 10, 2024, and Thursday, January 11, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., all in the Crossroads Baptist Church, 1280 Crossroads Church Road, Bland, MO 65014, with his funeral service following at 11:00 a.m., with Bro. Dennis Spurgeon officiating.

Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Bland, under the direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna. Pallbearers for Don will be Hunter Loughridge, Brian Winkelmann, Logan Loughridge, Wyatt Loughridge, Ethan Loughridge, Cole Loughridge. Honorary pallbearers will be Joey Loughridge, Meghan Turner, Emily Loughridge, Vidella Loughridge, and McKenna Loughridge.

Immediately following the cemetery service for Don, the Loughridge family extends an invitation to all in attendance to share at meal with them in the Crossroads Baptist Church.

Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Donnell Loughridge are suggested per the wishes of the family with envelopes available at the church on the day of his service or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 250, Vienna, MO 65582.
