Douglas Lee Martin, age 62, of Dixon, was born January 19, 1959, at Waynesville, a son of Hershel Lee and Rose Mary (Hawkins) Martin, and passed from this life Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at his residence.

He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and was a member of the Kenner Church of God, near Dixon. During his working life, Doug was the owner, operator, and driver of his dump truck hauling service from 1983 until 2019, when he had to stop driving due to failing health.

Those left to celebrate the life of Doug include: One brother, Dwayne Martin, Dixon; and three sisters, Elaine Fritchey, and Marsha Harsch, both of Dixon, and Carol Thurman (Richard), Brumley; special friend, Debbie Barnett, Iberia; nephews; nieces; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Herschel (5-17-2008); his mother, Rose Mary (11-13-2010); two brothers-in-law, David Fritchey (2-23-2006), and George Harsch (8-1-1993).

Visitation for Mr. Douglas Martin will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 14, 2021, in Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, 105 East Third Street, Dixon, MO 65459, with his funeral service following at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel with Pastor Beverly Sharp officiating.

Inurnment will be next to his parents, Herschel and Rose Mary, in the Kenner Cemetery, near Dixon, under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Dixon. Honorary pallbearers for Doug will be Teresa Loethen, Jake Sherrell, James Jennings, Daryl Wiles, Bobby Helton, and Tanner Duncan.
