Obituary

Edward Wilburn "Ed" Shelton, of Dixon, was born on June 22, 1931, near Dixon, the son of Charles and Ruby L. (Golden) Shelton, and departed this life at 3:10 a.m., Monday, May 20, 2019, in Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City.  Mr. Shelton had attained the age of 87 years, 10 months, and 28 days.

He was united in marriage on April 18, 1959, at Iberia, to Myrtle Marie Patton, and to this union, four children were born.

Mr. Shelton was a member of the Victory Hill Baptist Church, Dixon.  He had been employed at ABB Jefferson City, for over thirty years retiring in 2008.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Shelton include: His children, Kenny Shelton and Barb Prenger, Holts Summit; Ruby Marie Shelton, Dixon; and Randy Shelton and Brenda Leydens, Dixon; five grandchildren, Brittany, Joseph, Micheal, Ashley, and Brandy; five great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie, on March 3, 2008; one son, Charles Edward Shelton, on October 25, 1960; one grandson, Zachary Lynn Shelton, on September 20, 1994; his father, Charles, on June 30, 1980; and his mother, Ruby, on March 11, 1971.

Visitation for Mr. Shelton will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12 noon, on Thursday, May 23, 2019, in the Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, 105 East Third Street, Dixon, Missouri 65459, with funeral services following at 12 noon in the Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Nichols, Pastor of Victory Hill Baptist Church officiating.

Interment will be in the Wheeler Cemetery, near Dixon, under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home in Dixon.  Pallbearers for Mr. Shelton will be Kenny Shelton, Randy Shelton, Joseph Wilson, Micheal Wilson, and Mark Hensen.

Memorial contributions are suggested by the family of Mr. Shelton to the Wheeler Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund with envelopes available at the Dixon Office or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box EE, Dixon, Missouri 65459.
