Eva Elaine Darr, of Jefferson City, formerly of Vienna, was born on February 3, 1953, at Jefferson City, the daughter of Harold Clyde and Jewell Marie (Opperman) Honse, and departed this life at 4:20 p.m., on Monday, November 16, 2020, in SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital, Jefferson City. She had attained the age of 67 years, 9 months, and 3 days.
Elaine had accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior as a youngster while attending the First Baptist Church in Vienna with her family and had followed her Lord and Savior in baptism. As a faithful member of First Baptist Church, she was a member of the church choir, the Women's Missionary Union group, the committee for the 50 th Anniversary Celebration of First Baptist Church, and was always a person willing to assist with whatever needed to be done at the church. Elaine liked sewing, crocheting, and especially enjoyed working and staying active in church work.
During her working life, she had been employed in the Vienna Office of the Maries County Gazette-Advisor Newspaper for many years as well as being an Avon Consultant and a devoted housewife and homemaker to her family.
Those left to mourn the passing of Elaine include: One daughter, Renee Maples, and husband, Dwayne, of Wardsville; one son, Justin Darr, and wife, Cheri, of Vienna; five grandchildren, Jessica Bailey and husband, Izak, of Rolla, Daniel Maples of Independence, Sarah Darr of Vienna, Meghan Maples of Wardsville, and Hannah Darr of Vienna; one brother, Paul Eugene Honse of Vienna; nephews; great- nephews and nieces; cousins; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harold, on April 15, 2016; her mother, Marie, on March 21, 2006; and one brother, Harold DeWayne "Wayne" Honse, on February 19, 2017.
Visitation for Ms. Elaine Darr will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., on Friday, November 27, 2020, in the First Baptist Church, 1004 US Highway 63, Vienna, Missouri 65582, with her funeral service following at 7:00 p.m. in the church with her nephew, Bro. Jason Hodges, of Rolla, officiating, under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home in Vienna.
A private family interment ceremony will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2020, in the Vienna Public Cemetery, Vienna, by Birmingham-Martin in Vienna. Pallbearers for Elaine will be Daniel Maples, Izak Bailey, John Honse, Zach Honse, Jason Hodges, and Shawn Hodges, and her honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Honse (Deceased), Paul Honse, Joe Honse, and Cody Honse.
Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Elaine Darr are suggested by her family to First Baptist Church, Vienna, with envelopes available the day of her visitation and service at the church or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 250, Vienna, Missouri 65582.
