Elizabeth Inez "Izzy" Smith, of Waynesville, formerly of Dixon, was born on May 30, 1985, at Waynesville, the daughter of David Wayne and Debra Sue (Major) Smith, and departed this life at 4:23 p.m., on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at her residence near Waynesville. Izzy had attained the age of 33 years, 11 months, and 5 days.
Izzy was baptized at the Ridgeview Christian Church, Rolla. She loved to study her Bible and had been a member of the Christian Church, Dixon since 2005. She was a 2003 Dixon R-1 High School graduate and had attended the University of Missouri, Columbia (MIZZOU) for two years. During her working life she was employed by the Missouri Department of Corrections, worked for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service for a few years, and took care of her Grandmother ( who she loved dearly) for years. She was an avid photographer and loved taking pictures of people, flowers, weddings and her dogs, Rocky and Sharletta.
Those left to mourn the passing of Izzy include: Her mother and step father, Debra and Raymond Johns, Dixon; stepbrother, Rick and Linda Johns; Uncles and Aunts, Don and Cindy Major, Jerry and Linda Major, and Kenny and Nancy Major; and many other relatives and friends.
Izzy was preceded in death by her father, David; one brother, David Fred Smith; Paternal Grandparents, Edwin and Carol Smith, Maternal Grandparents Delinous and Kaya Gossett, and Maternal Great-Grandparents Franz and Walburga Rosle.
Visitation for Izzy will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 10, 2019, with funeral services following at 11:00 a.m., all in the Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, 105 East Third Street, Dixon, Missouri 65459.
Interment will be in the Dixon Cemetery under the direction of the Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes. Pallbearers will be Rick Johns, Rob Caldwell, Adam Green, Don Major, Kenny Major, Sr., and Kenny Major, Jr.
Memorial contributions are suggested per the donor's choice with envelopes available at the funeral home or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box EE, Dixon, Missouri 65459.
