Obituary

Elsie Mae Peacock, of Phenix City, Alabama, formerly of Dixon, was born on February 19, 1931, in Pulaski County on the family farm near Dixon, a daughter of Claude Marion and Elsie (Nelson) West, and departed this life on Friday, November 8, 2019, at her residence in Phenix City.  She had attained the age of 88 years, 8 months, and 20 days.

Elsie was united in marriage to Johnnie Peacock, the love of her life, who preceded his wife in death on September 24, 2007.

In addition to being a devoted housewife and homemaker, Elsie had been employed in various types of work during her life.  She continued working up until her husband retired, at which time she stopped working, so they both could enjoy retirement together, and enjoy their favorite activity which was fishing.

Those left to mourn the passing of Elsie include:  One brother, Loss West, of St. Charles; two sisters, Eunice Thompon of Columbus, Georgia, and Fern Meiser of St. Louis; nephews; nieces, and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her father, Claude, on February 4, 1989; her mother, Elsie, on May 6, 1994; one brother, Robert West, on November 30, 2013; two-brothers-in-law, Fern's husband, Ed Meiser, on November 21, 2010, and Eunice's husband, William Thompson; and two sisters-in-law, Robert's wife, Delphia (Allen) West, on December 18, 2011, and Loss's wife, Rose West.

Graveside funeral services will be held for Mrs. Elsie Mae Peacock at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, November 23, 2019, in the Kenner Cemetery, 17996 Maries Road 505, Dixon, Missouri  65459, with Pastor Beverly Sharp officiating, by Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home in Dixon.
