Elva Iris Bennett, age 69, of Vienna, was born on December 29, 1954, at Washington, Pennsylvania, a daughter of James and Shirley (Roupe) Lycett, and passed from this life on Monday, April 29, 2024, in her home surrounded by her family.
She was married April 3, 1993, in Phoenix, Arizona, to Scott Edward Bennett.
Elva loved the outdoors as long as she could stay close to the house. She enjoyed gardening, planting flowers, tending to plants, music, and dancing.
During her working life, Elva was a loan processor and loan processor manager for 17 years in Phoenix, Arizonia, until moving with Scott to Vienna in 1997. Continuing with her love of tending to plants and flowers, Elva worked for Neubert Nursey, and Plant Essentials tending to the flowers at Lowe's. She also enjoyed being around people and worked in customer service at establishments in Vienna including WOW Pizza, Dollar General, G&W Food, Eagles Club, Sally's Restaurant, the Sale Barn and for a short time she worked as a loan processor in Jefferson City.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Elva Bennett include: her husband, Scott of the home near Vienna; her daughter, Sherry Araus (Eliseo), of Phoenix, AZ; three stepchildren, Jolie Bennett Thario, Kelly Bennett, and Adam Bennett, all of Phoenix, AZ; six grandchildren, Edward Inzunza, Jonathon Inzunza, Darius McCoy-Bennett, Dacia McCoy-Bennett, Lemar McCoy-Bennett, and Dharma Marquardt; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jim Lycett, of the state of West Virginia, and Larry Lycett, of the state of California; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one son, Michael McCoy; her parents, James and Shirley Lycett; and one brother, Jack Lycett.
Following the wishes of Elva, the family elected cremation under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in honor of Mrs. Elva Bennett are suggested by the family to help with Elva's cancer medical expenses with envelopes available at the funeral home or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 250, Vienna, MO 65582 or to her "Go Fund Me Page" titled under elvabennett.
