Erma Louretta Hance, of Gustine, California, formerly of Dixon, was born on February 9, 1924, near Dixon, a daughter of Pete Noah and Dora May (Grisham) Carter, and departed this life on Friday, March 30, 2018, at her residence in Gustine, California. She had attained the age of 94 years, 1 month, and 21 days.

Mrs. Hance was united in marriage to  Leslie W. Hance, who preceeded her in death on August 25, 1976; in addition to her husband she was prececed in death by, one granddaughter, Denise Filva in 2005; her father, "Pete" on April 24, 1974; her mother, Dora on September 13, 1985; one brother, Kenneth Robert "Bob" Carter on September 8, 2015; two sisters, Norma May Russell on December 19, 2008 and Mildred Irene Felkerson on August 13, 2009; two brothers-in-law, John Warden Russell on September 5, 1996 and James Wade Felkerson on October 27, 2002; and one sister-in-law, Lorene M. Carter on June 25, 2016.

She was a member of the Shrine of Our Lady of Miracles Church, Gustine, California, and was a cannery worker at Patterson Frozen Foods for twenty-seven years. Mrs. Hance enjoyed making crafts and gardening.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Hance include: Two daughters, Shelby Turner, Fair Oaks, California; and Patsy Garcia, Gustine, California; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Arlie Carter and wife, Helen, Dixon; one sister, Vivian Thompson and husband, Yarol, Dixon; and other relatives and friends.
