Ethan Lee Obenauer, age 22, of Vienna, was born February 5, 2001, at St. Louis, the son of Curtis Lee and Kimberly Ann (Gander) Obenauer, and passed from this life, Saturday, February 11, 2023, at his residence in Warrensburg.
On November 22, 2019, Ethan enlisted in the Air National Guard, at Whiteman Airforce Base, with the dream of becoming a pilot. He took pride in physical fitness and ranked number 1 out of 750 trainees in his Basic Military Training class. Ethan always wanted to work in law enforcement and was currently enrolled in his third year at Central Missouri State University, Warrensburg, majoring in criminal justice. He enjoyed playing video games, cars of all types, and riding his motorcycle.
For the last four summers, Ethan was employed with Quaker Windows, Freeburg, and during the school year he was employed with Papa Johns.
Those left to celebrate the life of Ethan include: His father, Curtis Obenauer, Freeburg; his mother, Kimberly Obenauer, Vienna; his brother, Brendan Gander, St. Clair; two sisters, Jenna Rasmussen and husband, Nick, with their son, Alex, Florence, Colorado, and Delana Obenauer, Vienna; his paternal grandparents, Ray Obenauer, Sullivan, and Brenda Snyder, Washington; his maternal grandparents, Ron and Judy Paul, St. Clair; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal great grandparents, Harold and Donna Harpe; and his maternal great grandparents, Dick and Helen Lee.
Visitation for Ethan will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 18, 2023, in the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home Chapel, 406 South Main Street, Vienna, MO 65582, with his funeral service at 3:00 p.m., with Pastor Chris Slocum officiating, followed by full military honors, all at the chapel.
Memorial contributions in memory of Ethan Obenauer are suggested by the family to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675, with envelopes available at the funeral home the day of service or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 250, Vienna, MO 65582.
